Fed Ex guard Christopher Sparkman is home; Chick-fil-A fundraiser planned
Christopher Sparkman, who was working as a security guard when a suicidal gunman opened fire at a Kennesaw Fed Ex facility last year, is home following another long hospital stay.

Christopher Sparkman's medical ordeal is not over. He's gone through around 40 surgeries and faces more in the future, but at least he's able to enjoy the comforts of home for now.
Meanwhile Chick-fil-A restaurants in six north Georgia counties will team up for a fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. this Wednesday. The nearly 40 participating Chick-fil-As will donate at least 10 percent of total sales to help support the Sparkman family on the one-year anniversary of the shooting.

, franchise operator at the Macland Crossing Chick-fil-A in west Cobb, said he felt led to help Sparkman, a fellow U.S. Army veteran, and invited his counterparts at other stores to join in the effort.
"I felt really strongly that we should do something," he said. "I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to work together."
Locations participating in the event include Chick-fil-A restaurants in Cherokee, Bartow, Douglas, Carrol, Cobb and Paulding counties, as well as others from around the state.
