The "Atlanta" star, real name Donald Glover Jr., released the video on May 6, hours after he hosted U.S. sketch show "Saturday Night Live," and it has already amassed over 50 million views on the streaming site.

Watch an auditorium of high schoolers go crazy at surprise Childish Gambino performance

Chance the Rapper had a surprise for attendees of his open mic night.

“My next guest needs no introduction,” Chance said before “This is America,” the hit track by Grammy-winning rapper Childish Gambino, began playing. Gambino (aka Donald Glover) entered the stage wearing all white.

Students were thrilled to see him, with the crowd screaming at his entrance.

Some attendees tweeted thanks to Glover for the surprise.

The performance was at Open Mike Chicago, a monthly event that gives a safe place for high schoolers to perform and network.
