Former President Bill Clinton discussed his new status as grandfather during a visit to Ellen DeGeneres' talk show. The two also discussed future political possibilities his wife, former U.S. Sen., Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton, might be eyeing.

Here are excerpts from the interview that the show, which airs at 4 p.m. weekdays on WXIA, provided.

"She’s a dotting, giddy, deliriously happy grandmother," he said of his wife. "She’s the happiest grandmother in the world."
Yeah, yeah. What about 2016?
"I don’t know what Hillary’s going to do, it’s true," he said. "If I did I wouldn’t tell you, but I don’t know. We’ve been so blessed. We’ve had a wonderful life.
We’ve had the chance to serve. Whatever she wants to do, I’m for. She’s the ablest public servant I ever worked with."
Ellen tried prying intel out of the former president by asking which onesie he'd prefer for granddaughter Charlotte: one that reads “My Grandma’s running for President in 2016” or one that reads, “My Grandma’s a stay at home Granny?”
You have to admire her interrogation tactics but the former commander in chief skated.
"Keep them both and give her the right one when she decides," he said.
For now, he said the Clintons are focusing on Job #1: being grandparents, a bipartisan effort.

"I'll tell you because I'm always campaigning for the parties to get together and agree on something: President (George W.) Bush 43 became a grandfather just a few weeks before I did," Clinton said.

"He told me something on which there was complete agreement. He said, the most important thing you have to remember when you become a grandfather is, you immediately fall to last place on the family hierarchy."

Ellen figured that just in case Charlotte becomes "First Baby," she would need a presidential ride tricked out just for her. Clinton noted that it's a Cadillac - made in America!
