Before saying so long to summer, celebrate with sangria. The following four restaurants offer the fruity and wine-infused drink by the glass or pitcher. It’s one way to say cheers to good times and warm weather.
Gypsy Kitchen: Sangria is better with friends. At this modern Spanish, Mediterranean-influenced restaurant, a carafe will run you $30. Should you insist on having a sangria solo, it is $8 per glass. Additionally, every Sunday as part of their "Basque in the Sun" patio promotion, Gypsy Kitchen offer a $5 sangria as well as $4 Tino de Veranos and half off select dishes.
Park Tavern: This restaurant offers the ultimate summer celebration—a sangria in the park with your besties. Located in Piedmont Park at 10th Street and Monroe Drive, this casually cool neighborhood spot richly blends red wine, Grand Marnier and fruit juices to create their version of perfect sangria. Servings are $6 per glass.
MAYA Steaks & Seafood: Since the menu at this Roswell restaurant boasts an array of creative American steak and seafood dishes with Spanish flair, it's obvious that their sangria would be refreshingly tropical. Torress Sangria, Chef Mimmo Alboumeh's house-made version, is a $10 mix of Sparking Freixenet Cava, brandy and the seasons freshest fruits.
The Iberian Pig: A night of the town calls for a glass—or liter—of sangria. Located at Decatur Square, this restaurant serves up a house recipe made with fresh muddled fruit and fortified with spirits and wine. By the glass, the sangria is $7 - $8; the liter, $30 - $35.
