You see them on road signs, giant sculptures, license plates and on any Georgia marketing materials, but Georgia’s famous fruit, the peach, won’t be on restaurant menus much longer. August is well under way, but peaches are on their way out of season. With only a few more weeks left, now is the opportunity to savor the peach. Here’s how to eat and drink your peaches before they are gone!

Dish: Peach Burger: grass-fed, grass-finished beef patty topped with Georgia Peach chutney, Decimal Place goat cheese and arugula. This chutney may be added to other burgers as an a la carte topping during peach season.

Dish: Heirloom tomatoes paired with local peaches, basil, pecorino and tomato foam. Chef Alba is the newly appointed executive chef for STK and is adding his twist to the traditional caprese salad by highlighting peaches.

Restaurant: Gunshow (Hired Chef Series)

Chef: Tandy Wilson of Nashville's City House

Dish: Crispy Pork Meatballs: peach jezebel, mint, red onion, chilies and grit crumbs. Wilson will cook at the restaurant August 12 and 13.

Drink: Sweet Southern Pie cocktail: Absolute Peach, Liquor 43, fresh peach simple syrup, fresh Georgia peach slices, one Nilla Wafer and ginger infused sugar rim. Sweet and salty gets a new companion with the addition of a grilled bacon strip.
