An Atlanta chef is trying to cook up a win on Food Network tonight -- and you can help cheer him on.
Anthony “TJ” Reddick will compete for the top spot on "Cooks vs. Cons," wherein professional chefs battle home chefs. The Art Institute of Atlanta is hosting a viewing party starting at 8 p.m. to cheer on the chef, who will make the Three Bean Vegetarian Nacho recipe he prepared on the show, along with other Tex-Mex dishes including quesadillas, chips and salsa. The show airs at 9 p.m. and the party is open to the public.
Reddick, who graduated with honors from The Art Institute of Atlanta in 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Food and Beverage Management, will battle a seasoned chef for a cash prize.
Before persuing cooking, the Chicago native served in the Army National Guard for 5 years, including 16 months in Iraq. He now lives in Marietta with his wife, Nerissa and their four children.
“As a chef, it’s a good feeling to have validation in what you create,” said Reddick in a statement. “Being on the sho confirmed that I have the level of culinary artistry that is needed in the culinary industry.”
