A pizzeria and an upscale Mexican eatery are coming to Sandy Springs. The Local Pizzaiolo and Casi Cielo will make their home in the mixed-use development Modera by Mill Creek, located at 6125 Roswell Road, and are expected to open by the end of 2017.

The Local Pizzaiolo will offer Neopolitan pizza along with other Italian specialties. The restaurant will also have a retail market component, selling Italian imports such as olive oil and honey.

This is one of four locations that Local Pizzaiolo plans to open in Atlanta. Others will make their home in Toco Hills, Reynoldstown and West Midtown.

Casi Cielo is an upscale Mexican concept from the minds behind La Parilla Mexican Restaurants. Look for tacos, enchiladas and its signature arroz al carbon that sees rice cooked over charcoal and paired with meats and vegetables. The beverage menu will focus on mezcal-based cocktails.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
