Isn’t it great to drink freely?
Independent Distilling Company will launch Hellbender bourbon, the first bourbon distilled inside the perimeter since Prohibition, from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 10 at Kimball House (303 East Howard Ave., Decatur). The bourbon is milled, mashed, fermented, distilled and aged in-house at Independent's micro-distillery in Decatur. Its unique mash bill of 83-percent Georgia-grown corn and 17-percent barley malt creates a distinct style of bourbon with notes of vanilla, citrus and oak. Sure, the result is a long and well-rounded finish that is slightly spicy, yet still balanced, but you can judge the flavor at the party.
Mixologist Miles Macquarrie alongside his staff of mixologists will create cocktails with Hellbender Bourbon and Independent rum for attendees to enjoy.
Bootlegging will be unnecessary since the event is free and open the public; drinks will be available for purchase.
