Mexican restaurant Tierras Alto has closed its doors in Virginia-Highland.

The restaurant, which opened in August at 640 N. Highland Ave. in Atlanta, was previously known as Cafe Highlands and, before that, Cafe 640.

The spot's menu featured Mexican staples such as tacos, fajitas and nachos, as well as margaritas and other drinks.

What Now Atlanta reports that neighboring Sweet Auburn Barbecue is interested in the space, but a representative said the owners "don't have anything to share at this time about the Tierras Alto space."
