Question: When is milk bubble tea not just milk bubble tea?

Answer: When it's made with matcha, the Japanese green tea that is becoming omnipresent in desserts and drinks these days.

Boba Bee, which opened at  5150 Buford Hwy. NE Ste. 150 last week, serves up several varieties of matcha milk tea and other matcha drinks  made with organic whole, soy and almond milk in reusable glass cups. Bring the cup back on return visits and get a discount on your next drink.

But that's not all! Boba Bee also peddles in the eye-popping dessert known as Hong Kong egg waffles. Similar in taste and smell to egg custard, the waffles come in a cup with a choice of toppings and a scoop of ice cream, and look like the kind of sweet treat you might have dreamed up as a kid.
