RSVP now for restaurants open for Thanksgiving dinner in metro Atlanta

This Thanksgiving, plan to fill your day with food cooked by someone else.

It’s tempting to want to show off your culinary skills, but opt for dining out at several metro Atlanta restaurants, which will offer everything from traditional roasted turkey with southern sides to apple cobbler, pecan pie or pumpkin cognac cheesecake for dessert. Besides the no-dishes factor, there’s sure to be no grumbling about who at the last piece of (insert item here) since you and your family will be able to order more on the spot.

Thanksgiving is only two weeks away and availability may be limited so be sure to reserve your seat at the table for Thursday, Nov. 24 at any of the following seven restaurants, which are just some of the restaurants that will be open. You’ll be thankful that you did.

Livingston Restaurant: For a festive buffet, head to this Midtown restaurant located in The Georgian Terrace, which will offer seasonal fare such as bacon-basted turkey, whipped sweet potatoes, pumpkin cognac cheesecake and more from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Portions of the proceeds from the buffet and an on-site silent auction will benefit the Sotherly Foundation, which provides aid to American vets. The buffet style meal is $50 for adults, $25 for children ages 12 and under and complimentary for children ages 3 and under.

Food 101: For $46 a person, guests can feast on a three-course menu inclusive of herb roasted turkey with orange cranberry sauce; sage and honey glazed carrots; rosemary leg of lamb with red wine gravy; and maple-whipped sweet potatoes. Dessert options will include pecan pie or chocolate bread pudding. Kids can enjoy the feast as well with smaller portions for $20. The restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; call for reservations.

Ted's Montana Grill: A special traditional three-course meal with a side salad, cup of soup or bison chili; roasted turkey and gravy with herb dressing and cranberry sauce plus a choice of squash casserole, garlic mashed potatoes or buttered carrots; and apple pecan crisp for dessert will be available. A seat at the table will cost $29; prices may vary by location.

Chicken and the Egg: Enjoy a traditional southern Thanksgiving feast featuring smoked turkey breast or a sorghum and mustard-glazed ham with a choice of three sides—cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, creamed corn or green bean casserole—at this Marietta restaurant. Leave room for dessert with delectable options like apple cobbler, pecan or pumpkin pie. The cost for adults will be $27.50 and $12.50 for children 6 – 12 years of age.

South City Kitchen: All three locations— MidtownVinings and Buckhead—will offer a three-course, prix fixe menu featuring traditional roast turkey breast with gravy, cornbread dressing, collard greens, whipped potatoes and orange cranberry sauce. Unique menu options will include duck confit with spaghetti squash, currants, cippolini, escarole and chili cider gastrique at South City Kitchen Midtown; southern seafood stew with tomato broth, andouille, tomato relish and grilled bread at South City Kitchen Vinings; and seared salmon with cornbread gnocchi, turnip greens, pumpkin nage and white barbecue hollandaise at South City Kitchen Buckhead.
