A Florida restaurant named one of the best in the Southeast for barbecue is opening its first Georgia location next year.

4 Rivers Smokehouse, owned by Chef John Rivers, will open at 822 Marietta St. in the old fire station No. 16 in Spring 2017.

The brand specializes in 18-hour smoked Angus brisket and a variety of other meats including pulled pork and Bontosaurus beef rib, “Homestyle Sides” including mac n' cheese and baked cheese grits,  “Signature Stacker" sandwiches, “From the Farm” offerings including salads and other vegetarian options and desserts including banana pudding and fried Oreos.

The restaurant, which opened its first location in Winter Park, Fla. in 2009, now has 14 operating locations throughout Florida.
