Rising Son in Avondale Estates opens for dinner service tonight

Rising Son, the Avondale Estates breakfast-all-day and plate lunch restaurant from Hudson Rouse and Kathryn Fitzgerald Rouse, will now open for dinner service, 5-9 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays, beginning tonight.

The sample menu posted on the Rising Son Facebook page includes starters such as a kale Caesar salad and wild Georgia shrimp cocktail, a pulled pork sandwich with fries, and entrees such as a fried chicken dinner and filet au poivre.

Rising Son serves breakfast all day, starting at 8 a.m., with lunch (including Southern-style meat-and-three plates with fresh vegetables) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Along with fresh juice drinks, shakes and slushies, the restaurant now offers a full bar with cocktails, draft beer, wine and sodas.
