Best overall restaurant, best burger: Local Republic, Lawrenceville

The Lawrenceville gastropub will move from its current location to one on North Perry Street later this year . The team behind the restaurant will also open Strange Taco Bar late this year or early next year.  Read more about Local Republic's burger here.

Best bakery: Special Kneads & Treats, Lawrenceville

The non-profit bake shop -- which makes cupcakes, cheesecakes and other types of cakes -- employs special needs adults in Gwinnett County  and sells to elder care facilities and food cooperatives in addition to the public.

Best bar: McCray's Tavern, Lawrenceville

The bar serves lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, in addition to having more than 40 beers on tap. There's also a Smyrna location, and a Midtown location is set to open later this year.

Best Korean: Breakers Korean BBQ, Duluth

The Korean barbecue spot has gotten national attention, being named the best Korean restaurant in the country by restaurant search site Tabelog . AJC dining writer Wyatt Williams awarded Breakers two stars when he reviewed it in September 2015.
