Members of Atlanta’s food, dining and photography communities were saddened to learn of the passing of Creative Loafing contributing photographer James Camp last week.
I didn’t know Camp well. He took my portrait once at Brick Store Pub for CL’s First Draft beer feature. Judging from that meeting, and by all other accounts, he was a kind and affable person. And his beautiful professional photography was a centerpiece of CL’s food and drink coverage for many years.
CL's food editor Stephanie Dazey first reported on Camp's passing and put together a fitting tribute with words from former and current staffers, including Bill Addison, Besha Rodell, Wyatt Williams, and Jennifer Zyman.
Dazey told me today that more details on making donations to the James Camp Photography Scholarship Fund at the Art Institute of Atlanta will be coming soon.
RIP James Camp.
