Andre Gomez, the former chef de cuisine at Kevin Rathbun Steak , is set to open his first restaurant, Porch Light Latin Kitchen in Smyrna, for lunch and dinner service tomorrow.

The menu features appetizers, sandwiches, salads, meats and sides meant to reflect Gomez's Puerto Rican and Argentinian roots. Menu items include conch fritters, plantain empanadas, citrus-brined beer can chicken, chopped salad, sol mahi tacos and spaghetti squash with apples and brown butter.

"The restaurant is all about Latin flavors with local products," Gomez said. "The concept, like the name, is about being on the porch with family and friends, grilling, barbecuing and hanging out, the difference being Porch Light has a Puerto Rican behind the grill."

The restaurant also features a full bar with Spanish, Chilean and Argentinian wine, local beers and custom cocktails.

Counter service will be available during lunch, with the restaurant switching to full service for dinner.
