Alpharetta's mixed-use development Avalon is bursting with news these days -- Boulevard East, the second phase of the complex opened yesterday, welcoming Rumi's Kitchen , Brine Seafood Shack , Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams , Barleygarden Craft Kitchen and Bar , MF Bar, District 3 and Chick-fil-a.

Now, Fifth Group Restaurants has announced that South City Kitchen will open in early 2018 as part of the development's phase three of construction. The contemporary Southern restaurant will occupy 6,000-square-feet in the forthcoming Hotel at Avalon.

“Avalon has propelled the Alpharetta area into one of Atlanta’s most vibrant culinary scenes,” said Fifth Group partner Robby Kukler in a press release. “We’re thrilled to work with their team to debut South City Kitchen within

the community’s impressive roster of chefs and restaurants.”

South City Kitchen Avalon will offer dishes found on the menus at its three other locations in Midtown, Vinings and Buckhead , including she-crab soup, buttermilk Springer Mountain Farms fried chicken, catfish Reuben and smoked brisket benedict. The remainder of the menu will be created seasonally by the executive chef at the Avalon location.

In addition to the South City Kitchen restaurants, Fifth Group also owns La Tavola Trattoria, The Original El Taco, Alma Cocina, Lure, Ecco and catering company Bold American Events.
