Travelers through Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and south Atlanta dwellers will soon have a new spot to eat and drink.

Hickory & Hazel Southern Table and Bar is slated to open in May as part of the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel at 2081 Convention Center Concourse.

The Southern menu will focus on local ingredients and with dishes such as sweet tea-brined chicken and waffles and grilled bourbon cider pork chops with potato puree and glazed Vidalia onions. A chef and full menu will be announced soon.

The hotel will also unveil Bar Ritual, a "sharable cocktail experience" offering guests complimentary punch four nights a week and teaching them about bar ingredients and techniques.

The restaurant, which features a 2,976-square-foot open concept floor plan with 106 seats, will also offer weekly social and interactive events including painting classes, wine tastings and music from local artists.
