The first of several planned metro Atlanta locations of New York-based Mamoun's Falafel is now open.

Mamoun’s opened Saturday at 1269 Northside Drive NW. in West Midtown.

Founded by Syrian immigrant Mamoun Chater 45 years ago in New York, Mamoun's serves up traditional Middle Eastern dishes including falafel, shawarma and baba ganoush in the United States. Now operated by Mamoun’s sons, the restaurant has locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The Georgia Mamoun's will be overseen by franchisees Kalki Patel and Parimal Patal, who plan to open a total of six Mamoun’s in metro Atlanta.

Mamoun’s is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.

The AJC has reached out to Patel for more details.
