A barbecue restaurant-turned-tavern has closed in Marietta.

Loyal Q and Brew, which opened in late 2017 at 4880 Lower Roswell Road as a barbecue and beer focused restaurant, rebranded itself as the second location of Loyal Tavern in March, serving more traditional bar fare.

The restaurant closed suddenly last week, Tomorrow's News Today reports.

The first Loyal Tavern, which remains open, debuted in 2018 in Roswell.

Another Loyal Q and Brew location in Alpharetta that opened in 2018 also remains open.

The Loyal concept is from Bob Campbell, who spent years opening and operating multiple Taco Mac locations around Atlanta, and his business partners.

The restaurant provided a closing statement to the AJC:

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations at Loyal Tavern in Marietta. It has been a pleasure to serve our friends and neighbors in the community. We appreciate all of the hard work of our team members and have offered them positions at our other restaurants. We invite our guests to visit us at our Loyal Tavern location in nearby Roswell or Loyal Q and Brew in Alpharetta to enjoy all of their favorite menu items in the future.
