Himalayas Indian Restaurant is back.

The eatery -- which closed Dec. 31, 2017 at its old location at 5520 Peachtree Industrial Blvd after more than 25 years -- reopened earlier this month at 5336 Peachtree Road in Chamblee, in a space previously occupied by Union Hill Kitchen.

Himalayas offers both north and south Indian dishes, including chicken tikka masala, korma and vindaloo.

The restaurant joins other recent additions to the Chamblee dining scene including The Alden and BlueTop.

Himalayas is open 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
