Update: Southern Comfort likely has a new buyer and plans to reopen.

After 35 years, beloved Atlanta music venue Southern Comfort, located at 1383 Cedar Grove Road in Conley, is closing. Southern Comfort will be open through Sunday, according to one of its employees.

Southern Comfort has been an institution for music lovers in Atlanta, serving  up tunes for everyone from the honky-tonk crowd to karaoke die-hards for decades.

The venue is listed in the top 10 things to do when in Atlanta. It is also among the few remaining Honky-tonk pit-stops in the U.S.

Why the closing? No business.

“It is really slow,” said a Southern Comfort employee.
