A seafood restaurant with one of the best views of the city is closing its doors by the end of the year.

Legal Sea Foods opened its only Atlanta location in 2008 in the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown at 275 Baker St. NW. It's set to close Dec. 18, What Now Atlanta first reported.

The Boston-based chain also has locations in Washington DC, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.

The menu features lobster and a variety of seafood dishes including crab cakes, salmon and baked Boston cod.

Former AJC food critic John Kessler wrote in 2013 that Legal Sea Foods served “the best cup of clam chowder in the city.”

The closure could come with as many more than 75 employee layoffs.
