A place for dogs -- and the food lovers who love them -- is now open in Peachtree Corners.

California-based Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar opened its first metro Atlanta location Aug. 7 in the Peachtree Corners Town Center development.

The family-owned eatery’s decor, including a large fireplace and wood accents, and menu are inspired by Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where founder and CEO Chris Simms spend time every year, according to a press release.

“We are thrilled to join the Peachtree Corners community and bring our style of hospitality and delicious food to the neighborhood,” said Simms in a prepared statement. “The team, the guests, and the community are the reason why we do what we do – to offer a dining experience that feels like family. We are excited to open our doors and introduce ourselves to the community.”

Lazy Dog’s extensive menu includes a variety of seasonal dishes; starters and small plates including Onion Ring Poutine and Buffalo Cauliflower; pizzas; bowls; pasta dishes including Sundried Tomato Pesto and Chicken Parmesan;  soups and salads; sandwiches including Walnut Chicken Salad and Pulled Pork; burgers; and chicken, meat and fish dishes as well as a variety of sides, desserts and lunch specials.

There’s also a separate weekend brunch menu with items including a Breakfast Burger, Chilaquiles and Bananas Foster French Toast, as well as daily happy hour and late-night offerings.

On the beverage side, look for a variety of beers and wines including selections from local breweries, margaritas, sangrias, custom cocktails including a Smoked Maple Bacon Old Fashioned and a Hibiscus Margarita as well as lemonades, sodas and teas.

Bringing your pooch with you? The restaurant features a dog-friendly patio with fire pit and lounge, and a soon-to-be-launched dog menu listing a complementary bowl of water and dishes such as plain brown rice and grilled hamburgers and chicken.

The 8,000 square-foot interior will have seating for 250 customers. The interior “will be complete with lodge-inspired furnishings such as cozy fireplaces, ledge stone, a chandelier crafted from Aspen logs, and artwork reminiscent of the Cowboy State.”

In addition to California, Lazy Dog also has locations in Colorado, Nevada and Texas. A second metro Atlanta location is slated to open at Perimeter Mall next year.
