Hugh Acheson's coffee shop opens a second Atlanta location

There's a new spot to get your caffeine fix in Toco Hills.

Spiller Park Coffee, which has a location in Ponce City Market, opened over the weekend in the Toco Hills Shopping Center at 2929 North Druid Hills Road NE, in a space that was formerly home to a shoe store.

The coffee shop, from Atlanta restaurateur and "Top Chef" judge Hugh Acheson and Dale Donchey, who previously owned coffee shop Steady Hand in the Emory area, will feature a coffee menu that will rotat based on availability and seasonality. Beans will be sourced from roasters including George Howell, Intelligentsia, and Phil & Sebastian and drinks will include espresso, americano, macchiato, cappuccino, piccolo, lattes, hot chocolate, coconut sipper and hot and iced teas. The food menu will focus largely on toasts, including Nut Butter, Cinn-n-Sug, Nutter Apple, Jam-n-Lil Moo, Tomato & O'naise, Avocado and Fruit, Moo 'n Honey (full menu here).

The new Spiller City is Acheson's latest metro Atlanta venture -- he has several new or soon-to-open concepts at The Battery at SunTrust Park, including the recently-opened First & Third Hot Dog and Sausage Shack and Achie's which is set to open at The Omni at The Battery next year . He's also serving as a consultant for Punch Bowl Social, which is set to open at The Battery this year, and owns Empire State South in Atlanta and The National and Five & Ten in Athens. He is a James Beard award winner for Best Chef Southeast and was named a Best New Chef by Food & Wine Magazine.

The 28-seat, 1,100-square-foot space will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. seven days a week.
