Guy Wong has sold Le Fat, his Vietnamese restaurant in Atlanta's West Midtown. He plans to focus his attention on Ruby Chow's, an Asian concept that will be located at 620 Glen Iris Drive in Old Fourth Ward.

According to Wong, the lease on the space at 935 Marietta St., was coming to an end and he did not have plans to renew it. When a group approached him with an offer to buy Le Fat, Wong “thought it was good opportunity. I had Ruby Chow’s coming, so I decided to focus on that,” Wong said. He opened the restaurant in April 2015.

The sale occurred two months ago, yet Wong remained involved until last week to assist the new owners with the transition, he said.

The AJC has attempted to contact the new ownership group to learn about whether it plans to make changes to the menu or other aspects of the restaurant operation.

Wong announced plans for Ruby Chow’s nearly one year ago, yet provided few details about the concept that will make its home in the space previously occupied by both Gekko Sushi and Repast.

He expects to announce a menu in early January, with plans to unlock doors the week leading up to Chinese New Year, which begins Jan. 25. When Ruby Chow’s does open, it will offer dinner service seven days a week. Regulars at Le Fat will also find a familiar face in Fable Jeon, Le Fat beverage director who will take on that role at Ruby Chow’s.

Wong's two other concepts, Ton Ton and Miso Ko, both at Ponce City Market, are uneffected by the sale of Le Fat.
