Local restaurant group Metrotainment Cafes has closed its Vinings Mexican eatery Guaco Joe’s.

The restaurant closed late last month in the Vinings Jubilee development after about five years in business, Tomorrow's News Today first reported and a representative for Metrotainment Cafes confirmed.

It marks the third closure for the Metrotainment group in a little more than a year. Cowtippers Steaks and Spirits closed in late 2018 after 25 years and soccer bar Hudson FC closed in Brookhaven in 2019.

Metrotainment Cafes owns several metro Atlanta Hudson Grille locations, Einstein’s and Joe’s on Juniper in Midtown and Sugar Shack in Brookhaven.

A new Hudson Grille location is slated to open this year on Moreland Avenue in Little 5 Points, in the space previously occupied by Front Page News, which closed last month.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
