Gizzy Barton named executive chef at Bellina Alimentari in Ponce City Market

Gizzy Barton -- who previously worked as the sous chef at Rathbun's and helped Kevin Rathbun open KR Steakbar, and also spent time in the kitchens at Restaurant Eugene and South City Kitchen -- has been named the executive chef at the Italian restaurant and specialty food store.

She joins a team that includes owner Tal Baum, creative director Alice Noel Fabi and general manager Bethany Thompson.

“What I love about Gizzy is she strongly believes in our philosophy of food as a way of life,” Baum said in a statement. “She is excited about spending time with our customers and inspiring them with traditional Italian cooking presented in an easy, approachable way.”

An Atlanta native, Barton attended the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta.
