The highly-anticipated breakfast-focused eatery Pancake Social is set to open at Ponce City Market in the next few weeks.

The 120-seat restaurant will feature both indoor and patio dining and will be located near the North Avenue entrance of Ponce City Market, facing Historic Fourth Ward Park.

Pancake Social’s menu, which was designed by chef Anne Quatrano, who also owns Bacchanalia, Star Provisions, W.H. Stiles Fish Camp at Ponce City Market and Floataway Café, will be executed by executive chef Evelyn Ling, who previously worked at Bacchanalia. Expect to see eight types of pancakes – from savory to sweet – sandwiches, bowls and healthier fare including chia seed pudding, ancient grain porridge, avocado toasts and gluten-free options.

Dishes will be made using locally-sourced ingredients from businesses including Banner Butter and Summerland Farms. Menu highlights will include ebelskivers; a pecan praline stack; sourdough waffles; a crispy chicken sandwich with hot honey drizzle; and a P.S. burger.

On the beverage side, Pancake Social will offer juices, their own coffee and espresso as well as beer, wine, mimosas and brunch cocktails.

The restaurant’s design, a collaboration between architect Tim Nichols and Anne Quatrano, will feature “hints of Scandinavian architecture, focusing on clean lines, natural light and raw wood,” according to a press release. Design features will include hand-stenciled floor tiles and butcher block bar and tabletops. The space will feature a coffee counter for to-go orders and a full-service dining room with large tables and booths.

In addition to Quatrano and Ling, the Pancake Social team also features partners Dan Jacobson—owner of Steel Wave Ventures and formerly of Chick-fil-A; Steven Chan, a 20-year veteran of the Atlanta restaurant industry and founder of Tin Drum Asian Kitchen; and Tony Riffel, co-founder of Octane Coffee Company and Elevator Factory.

Michael Harrel, who previously worked at Octane Coffee and Empire State South, will serve as general manager.

Pancake Social will be open for breakfast from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and will  also serve dinner, dessert and coffee Thursday through Saturday until 9 p.m.

Pancake Social will join several other new concepts in Ponce City Market including Root Baking Co. and sushi stall Miso Ko.

A second location of Pancake Social is slated to open in the Pinewood Forest development later this year.
