Featured food events in metro Atlanta, April 12-16

Food and drink deals will begin at a dollar during a block party at Avalon in Alpharetta. Head to Canoe for an epicurean wine dinner. There are several fun, food events happening in metro Atlanta, so add one or all four of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time. 

Thursday, April 12: Head to Alpharetta for a block party! Avalon will celebrate the one year anniversary of Boulevard East with music, shopping discounts and food deals including $1 drafts of Victory Brewing Black Forest Stout, $1 brat sliders and $1 mini-dogs at Barleygarden Kitchen as well as $6 Brine Hurricanes and half-off oysters all day at Brine Seafood Shack. The party will be held from 5-9 p.m.

Thursday, April 12: Get the first taste of Banshee, the East Atlanta Village restaurant slated to open in late spring . Banshee will serve an a la carte pop-up menu at The Spindle featuring grilled rare beef ($13), chicken cacciatore ($17) and coffee cream cannoli ($7) starting at 5:30 p.m. until the food runs out.

Sunday, April 15: Second Self Beer Company will host a homemade cookie sandwich and local beer pairing with Jimella's Bakery from 1-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

Monday, April 16: Canoe will host an intimate wine dinner with Paul Hobbs Winery beginning at 7 p.m. in the Paces Room. The menu will include seared scallop with Russian River Chardonnay 2015; boneless lamb rack with Cabernet Sauvignon 2014; and slow-braised beef short rib with Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane 2014. Tickets, which are $125, can be purchased here.
