CBD is all the rage these days, but not everyone has bought in. Miles Macquarrie, co-owner and beverage director of Watchman's, said CBD never had an effect on him "until I tried actual CBD bud. It's an incredible stress reliever."

As it turns out, experiencing the benefits of CBD depends heavily on the delivery method. It’s hard to imagine a more enjoyable vehicle than Watchman’s CBDaiquiri.

First off, the CBDaiquiri is an excellent cocktail on its own. Served in a chalice-like glass, its cloudy green look practically shouts about its potency. But, the cocktail is relatively light, as a well-made daiquiri should be — and the bartenders at Watchman’s, under Macquarrie’s tutelage, are fanatics about proper daiquiris. After the initial tartness, the herbaceous hemp flavor blooms, but doesn’t overwhelm. The weedy flavor harmonizes with the lime, rum and absinthe-like liqueur called genepy.

As for the herbal enhancement, it does seem to have a relaxing effect. Watchman's infuses the rum with whole CBD bud in-house, which seems to be the key to the CBD's increased efficacy. When it comes to hemp-based CBD products, which are legal in Georgiathere's little regulation or information about the amount of cannabidiol in those products. Instead of adding mass-produced CBD oil to its cocktail, Watchman's controls the process from its plant origin, ensuring that the CBDaiquiri packs a real punch.

CBD skeptics: This drink’s for you.
