Chequers Seafood & Steak has closed its doors. The restaurant, located at 1401 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, has shuttered after 33 years in operation.

Chequers first opened doors in 1983 at 236 Perimeter Center Way, serving as a regular destination for Dunwoody residents and business executives. It moved to its East Cobb address in 2014 after State Farm purchased the Perimeter land with plans to turn it into a 2.2 million square-foot mixed-use project and corporate office developments.

Chequers announced the closure on its Facebook page:

To our valued guests,

After 33 years of serving the Atlanta community, we have closed our doors.

Our team can't thank you enough for your patronage, support and loyalty over the last three decades. It has been an honor to be a part of this wonderful community. Thank you for letting us be a part of it.
