Java Cats Cafe -- the first cat cafe in Atlanta (though not the first in Georgia -- La Maison du Chat serves up coffee with a side of cat playtime in Buford -- is officially open for business at 415 Memorial Dr., Suite C, in Atlanta. We got a first look at the space, menu and, of course, the feline population with owner Hadyn Hilton.

Hilton partnered with Ebrik Coffee, which has locations near Georgia State University and in Decatur, to develop the coffee drink menu. Expect to choose classics with a kitty spin on their names including the espurrso, the catpuccino and the meowchiatto, as well as pre-made sandwiches, salads and pastries from The Gathering, a non-profit organization sponsored by the Atlanta Mission that helps homeless men and women get back on their feet by teaching them culinary skills.
