The wait is over for the pizza spot from the team behind the popular Smyrna restaurant Muss & Turner’s.

MTH Pizza is slated to open Oct. 14 in Smyrna’s Ivy Walk complex, steps away from Muss & Turner’s.

Named after restaurant partners Todd Mussman, Ryan Turner and Chris Hall, MTH Pizza will serve “16-inch chef-inspired pies made with fresh, high-quality ingredients influenced by the seasons of the year and the whim of the partners,” according to a press release.

The dough will be “scratch-made with non-GMO, high-gluten flour barring additives or conditioners, minimal yeast, and fermented in cold temps for at least 72 hours.” All pies are baked in a Renato brick oven.

In addition to five classic pies and five seasonally-inspired rotating pizzas, the menu will feature antipasto, salads, desserts, beer and wine. The restaurant will begin with dinner service only, but with plans to add lunch service in the near future.

MTH Pizza's decor includes three graffiti murals designed by local artist Matt Fields, who goes by the moniker LETRS. The first mural, inspired by the Atlanta-filmed movie "Baby Driver," features a view of Smyrna's Atlanta Road as seen heading into downtown Atlanta. The second features an ode to Mussman's new nickname, "Doughboy," through a spread of Ice Cube's "Check Yo Self" lyrics, while the third is a nod to Team Hidi and Giving Kitchen, a local nonprofit that the partners co-founded.

The dining room will boast design elements including wood oak, white marble and stainless steel tables, booths and community dining options as well as patio seating.

Mussman, Turner and Hall are partners in Unsukay restaurant group, which owns Muss & Turner's in addition to Eleanor's in Smyrna and Local Three Kitchen & Bar in Atlanta. The trio also previously owned a Muss & Turner's location in Marietta which has since closed.

“I got my start in pizza, throwing pies at Pizza Hut, Papa John’s and Fellini’s as a teenager, so this is full circle for me,” said Hall. “ All three of us share a love of pizza and we want this concept to reflect our personal take on what makes a good pizza. People ask us what style we serve, but we’re not emulating any one style, we’re making it our own and it's unique to our restaurant.”

MTH Pizza will be open from 5:30-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3-9 p.m. Sunday.

1675 Cumberland Pkwy. SE, Smyrna. 678-424-1333.
