Famed restaurateur, cookbook author, frequent "Chopped" judge -- and arguably the most prominent black chef in the U.S. -- Marcus Samuelsson will be in town next week, and you have two chances to see him.

First, Samuelsson will join forces with Atlanta chef Linton Hopkins Thursday in celebration of Black History Month. The pair will cook a dinner featuring dishes from Samuelsson's new cookbook, "The Red Rooster Cookbook: The Story of Food and Hustle in Harlem," complemented by red and white wine pairings.  The price also includes a complimentary cookbook signing and Q&A with both Samuelsson and Hopkins.

The next day, Samuelsson will appear at Macy's at Lenox Square for a cooking demo. He'll share stories and prepare dishes (and samples) from his cookbook.  In addition, Harlem-based band The Rakiem Walker Project and NYC-based dance group W.A.F.F.L.E. will perform. Attendees who make a purchase of $35 or more at the store will get a gift and a copy of the cookbook, which Samuelsson will sign after the event. Customers can also RSVP in advance to receive a $10 Macy's gift card at event check-in at marcussamuelssonlenox.eventbrite.com.

Can't make either event but want to check out Samuelsson in the kitchen? The AJC will be doing a Facebook Live with Samuelsson at around 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at Macy's. If you have questions for him, leave them in the comments and we'll get them answered! Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/AtlantaRestaurantScene.
