Now for some sweet news -- Cafe Intermezzo has opened its doors at mixed-use development Avalon in Alpharetta.

The restaurant -- which specializes in dessert but also serves food, coffee drinks and cocktails -- has two other locations in Midtown and Dunwoody, as well as one at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The Cafe Intermezzo Avalon opening is part of the development's Phase I, which also included Farm to Ladle, which opened over the summer.

Avalon will see several other retail and restaurant openings next year, including Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams , Rumi's Kitchen, Barleygarden Craft Kitchen and Bar, MF Bar, District 3 and Brine Fish House .
