Vanilla Gorilla Imperial Porter

Red Brick Brewing, Atlanta

Available on draft and in 16-ounce cans.

Profile

After its flagship Hotlanta IPA, Vanilla Gorilla may be the beer Red Brick is best known for. And this year, the fall seasonal imperial porter has been released in 16-ounce cans for the first time, which should make it more widely available.

At 8-percent alcohol, it's big, dark beer brewed with a variety of six different malts, and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans. All that adds up to a rich flavor and creamy mouthfeel, with notes of vanilla, chocolate and roasted grains.

Pair with

Red Brick recommends pairing Vanilla Gorilla with pork barbecue, vanilla ice cream or cherry pie. But you might do well to stash some as an after dinner treat for a cold fall or winter evening.
