Bellina Alimentari

Central Food Market at Ponce City Market has been a flurry of activity of late , and foodies are about to get another spot to try with today's opening of Bellina Alimentari .

The Italian kitchen, bar, market and culinary club was developed by architect and designer Tal Postelnik Baum, who spent the past few years working in restaurants in Florence. Executive chef David Berry, formerly of Horseradish Grill, will serve up Italian classics including maltagliati della sorellina, house-made maltagliati pasta with mushroom ragù and crispy chicken bites; seasonal vegetable dishes; and Francesina, a traditional Tuscan pulled beef and sweet onion stew, served over creamy polenta.

Diners can order take-out meals or eat in the communal Ponce City Market dining hall or the 14-seat bar, which will also offer wine, beer and cocktails. The market will sell gifts, pastas and local and imported meats and cheeses, while the culinary club will feature workshops and cooking classes.

Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays.

Bellina Alimentari joins the recently-opened Minero from Sean Brock , Dub's Fish Market from Anne Quatrano and several other spots .
