It’s another big beer week around Georgia.
In Atlanta, Arches Brewing is celebrating its third anniversary with a party at the brewery on Saturday, tapping 25 beers, including specialty variants, and Lager Lab projects, and hosting live bands, and food trucks.
Athens Beer week concludes with the 24th Annual Classic City Brew Fest on Sunday, featuring 50-plus unique, one-off cask ales with special ingredients, and draft beer booths with local Athens breweries, plus live music and food.
And on Saturday, Terrapin Beer Co. will celebrate its 17th anniversary with a carnival of sorts at its brewery in Athens.
And in honor of that, Mr. Krunkles IPA is this week’s Beer Pick.

Mr. Krunkles IPA
Terrapin Beer Co., Athens, GA
Available in the Krunkles Travel Trunk mix-pack through the summer
Profile
Mr. Krunkles is the newest IPA from the ongoing Terrapin series of “man of mystery” beers. But this time there are no additional fruit flavorings. It’s brewed with a straight-up combo of 2-row, Briess Ashburn, Carapils, wheat, and Gambrinus Honey Malt, and hopped with Zythos, Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo, giving it tropical fruit-forward aromas and flavors.
At 6.5-percent alcohol and 50 international bitterness units, Mr. Krunkles is a balanced, approachable IPA that’s perfect for spring through summer sipping.
Pair with
Terrapin recommends pairing Mr. Krunkles with white cheddar or Gouda cheese, or blacked Mahi-Mahi with coconut rice and arugula salad.
