Avalon is getting a new ice cream shop this week

The rolled ice cream trend shows no signs of stopping.

Kremo Ice Cream is set to open at Avalon in Alpharetta this Friday . The spot, which serves made-to-order rolled ice cream made with local ingredients, offers flavors including green tea, toasted coconut and coffee, as well as specialty and seasonal varieties including mocha latte, passionfruit, rum raisin and black sesame.

This will be the second Kremo -- the spot has another location at 2180 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth . This will be the second spot in Avalon devoted to frozen treats --  Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream opened in the mixed-use development earlier this year.
