It’s time to start looking forward to Mondays.
Yes, yes, yes, there’s work and meeting and lots of things to check off your to-do list, but can you make a little room for some fun, food events too? Support Usher’s foundation by dining out. Celebrate an anniversary at Krog Street Market. There’s more; read about it below. Remember, these events will keep your mood festive and your stomach full. Happy Monday.
Anniversary party: Go. Now. For an unforgettable celebration filled with music, food and drinks, head to The Cockentrice . From 7-10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary dishes, live music and more. RSVP to events@thespottedtrotter.com or call to ask if you and your crew can kind of crash the party. Phone: 470-428-2733.
Easy as pie: Chick-fil-A in Smyrna (3100 South Cobb Drive) will play host to Ringling Bros. clowns, who will entertain customers in an effort to raise funds for the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19. Customers will be able to wear a poncho and get pied (think: messy, but fun); alternately, "clowns" of all ages can make a pie using shaving or whipped cream, make a video then post it on social media using #GetPiedforCHOA and #ringlingbros. For more information, visit www.Choa.org/PieForPatients.
Benefit for Usher's foundation: Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse will host Davio's Cooks for Charity event with special guest Jonnetta Patton, owner of JPat Management and J's Kitchen Culinary Incubator on Thursday, Jan. 21. Chef and owner Steve DiFillippo and Patton will prepare and serve lobster risotto with asparagus for the evening and guests can dine on the specialty dish for $34. All proceeds from the sale of the aforementioned dish will be donated to Usher's New Look Foundation, which helps to develop global youth leaders.
One-of-a-kind taco: Taqueria del Sol and The Giving Kitchen are teaming up again for a week of giving. Chef Chris Hall of Local Three has created a one-of-a-kind taco featuring crispy bacon, roasted corn, pickled jalapeños, cotija cheese, cilantro mayo aptly called The Giving Taco.
