Pop culture fans with a love of food will see their passions collide at this year's Dragon Con.

Marietta resident Alton Brown announced on the convention's Facebook page last night that he'll be on a panel featuring major players from "Good Eats," the hit Food Network show he hosted for 14 seasons.

Brown read a statement addressing the "Good Eats" appearance.

"'Good Eats' was and is the geekiest food show ever devised. Fans have been raving for a panel for years, and finally we're giving it to you," Brown said.

"So yes, here it is Comic Con," he said, addressing the camera, then realizing he flubbed the name of the convention. "(Not) Comic Con -- that's the one for dorks. Dragon Con -- the cool one, the one here in Atlanta -- I will be holding a 'Good Eats' panel.

Along with Brown, the "Good Eats" panel will feature cast members Lucky Yates, who played The Dungeon Master (and also voices Dr. Krieger on the Atlanta-produced "Archer"), and Widdi Turner, who played Brown's "biggest fan" Frances Andersen, as well as production designer  Todd Bailey.

Brown will be talking about his return to "the world of culinary infotainment," he said, referring to a new digital series.

The panel will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Marriott Atrium Ballroom, which seats about 2,500.

He said he was inspired to do the panel after a fan gave him an Alton Brown dragon stuffed animal -- complete with Hawaiian shirt -- which he showed off in the video.

Brown has stayed busy since the end of "Good Eats" in 2014 , including serving as host of "Cutthroat Kitchen" and "Iron Chef America", adopting a "hideously ugly" dog and giving it a hilarious name ,  tweeting about his desire to open a coffee shop in Marietta , releasing the cookbook "EveryDayCook" (which AJC food writer Wendell Brock named one of the top cookbooks of 2016),  and touring with his band the Edible Inevitable Trio .

The "Good Eats" team will join a lineup of other big names at this year's Dragon Con, including John Cusack and Ming Na-Wen.
