Inman Park’s

has an atmosphere that is always hopping. Seven nights a week I see crowds of people in the bar area or lounging on the patio. Is there ever a dead evening? Sundays are especially busy, as the restaurant is known for its “half-priced wine bottles” deal.

However some people come in and camp out all day.

Bartenders will see people buying bottles not just for themselves, but also for new friends. Guys will buy for girls, or random groups of people. It becomes a huge meet and greet. The restaurant estimated that 80 percent of the crowds on Sundays come for the bottle deal. Those that are there to discover new varietals and actually enjoy the wine bottles equates for about 40 percent, while the remaining half tend to take advantage of the deal and have been known to get a little rowdy.

The rowdiness is one of the reasons why Barcelona Wine Bar is changing things up. Starting next week, June 9th, the half-priced bottle deal will move to Mondays. The restaurant is not sure if it will be a permanent change, but they want to try it out. They were worried the "wine campers" were deterring off some of their customers.
