On Monday, 3 free readings of Pearl Cleage’s ‘Dear Dr. King’

In observance of the King Holiday, staged readings of Pearl Cleage's "Dear Dr. King" will be offered at the Woodruff Art Center's Rich Auditorium at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday. Though being presented as part of the Anti-Defamation League's Empowering Young Leaders: No Place for Hate Summit for metro high schoolers, the readings by the Alliance Theatre's teen Collision Project troupe are free and open to the public. Reservations required via alliancetheatre.org/content/current-project.

After the 3 p.m. performance, audience members also may attend (and even compete in) the ArtsVibe Teen Program's MLK Day Poetry Slam in the Alliance's 3rd floor Black Box Theatre. Free. Details: www.artsvibe.com.

Cleage and the Collision Project will separately present a reading of "Dear Dr. King" at 1 p.m. Monday at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Free with center admission. www.civilandhumanrights.org/events.
