On May 18, 100 metro Atlantans will honor Gabriel Garcia Marquez by reading three-minute passages from the Nobel Prize laureate's "100 Years of Solitude," starting at 1 p.m. at the Harris Bandstand on the downtown Decatur square. The Colombia-born writer died April 17, and outfits including the AJC Decatur Book Festival, Paste Magazine, WMLB-AM/1690 and A Cappella Books began organizing the free tribute. Those wishing to read may sign up (and request a preferred time) by emailing charles@pastemagazine.com. More details on the "100 Readers of Solitude" Facebook page. HOWARD POUSNER
