Do you ever see your friends Instagramming from some amazing concert or festival and wonder why you never even heard about it?

You'll never miss out on another must-attend event in town with our new weekly guide to the best festivals, concerts, and activities in Atlanta, starting with the 5th Annual Food and Wine Festival. The festival  kicks off this Thursday, May 28 with an aptly named "Pig Out: Market Style" dinner at the highly anticipated Ponce City Market (PCM). Hosted by Sean Brock (HUSK Charleston and Nashville) and Atlanta's own Linton Hopkins (Restaurant Eugene) and Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia), the event features small plates from future PCM vendors Chai Pani, Farm to Ladle, Honeysuckle Gelato, and Simply Seoul, plus drinks from top mixologists across the Southeast.

The fun continues throughout the weekend, with three full days of interactive classes and seminars with some of the South's top culinary talents, curated tasting tents with over 100 food and beverage vendors, and specialty dinners and events getting you up close and personal with stars of the South's food and wine scene. In other words, grab your stretchy pants and pace yourself, because from the kickoff "Pig Out" dinner on Thursday night through Sunday afternoon's tasting tents, you will eat and drink your way through everything from barbecue and bourbon to summer strawberries and Southern sours, guided by award-winning experts on Southern food, drink and culture.

With classes ranging from "Moonshine and Medicine" and "Whiskey, Wine, and Wild Game" to "Southern Craft Brewers Spill It" and "Cocktails for a Crowd," there is something for every taste--be it wine or whiskey, barbecue or seasonal vegetables. Out at the tents, you'll find "tasting trails," including Barbecue, Bourbon, Chicken, Craft Beer, Seafood, Southern Wines & Spirits, and Southern Snacks, so you can sip and snack while interacting with the chefs and mixologists who made your tasty treats.

3-day passes start at $575 and include all three days of classes and tasting tents, plus the kickoff dinner. Day passes are available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and start at $185/day and include classes and tasting tents on the select day. $100 tasting tent only passes are available for each day as well. Tickets can be purchased at www.atlfoodandwinefestival.com.
