Shaky Knees Music Festival is back for its TENTH year! This rockin’ festival takes place on May 5-7 at Central Park and will feature more than 60 bands, including headliners like The Killers, Muse, and The Lumineers, performing on four different stages.

These after-dark performances are sold separately from the festival admission, but trust us, it’s totally worth it for those of you looking for an intimate and unforgettable nocturnal music experience. Thursday, May 4
- Spacey Jane with Arlie: Spacey Jane, an indie rock foursome from Australia, will kick off Shaky Knees at The Masquerade in Hell. They’re set to ignite the stage on Thursday night for the ultimate cosmic experience. And that’s not all — joining them for a gravity-defying performance is Arlie, an indie-pop band from Nashville that’ll have you feeling like you’re floating on a cloud.
Friday, May 5
- Phantogram: With a discography spanning over a decade, Phantogram has garnered critical acclaim for their hypnotic soundscapes and captivating live performances. Catch them Friday at Center Stage. This event has sold out.
- Peaches: Peaches, the Canadian musician and performance artist known for her sexually charged electroclash sound, will perform at Terminal West on Friday night. With themes of gender, sexuality, and identity, Peaches has been a feminist and queer icon for over two decades, pushing boundaries in the underground music scene.
- The Front Bottoms: The Front Bottoms is an American indie rock band known for its confessional lyrics, catchy hooks, and acoustic punk sound. With a devoted fan base and a discography spanning over a decade, they have become a beloved staple of the indie scene. Catch them at The EARL. This event has sold out.
- The Mars Volta with Teri Gender Bender: Get ready for a mind-bending journey through the world of progressive rock as The Mars Volta takes the stage! Hailing from Texas, this band is famous for its intricate compositions and electrifying live shows. And that’s not all — the opening act is none other than Teri Gender Bender, a force of nature known for her powerful vocals and high-energy performances. Catch them both in Heaven at The Masquerade!
- Sun Room with Willis: Catch Sun Room, “the sound of fun,” at The Masquerade in Hell Friday night. Opening up is Willis, a Nashville-based indie band.
- Joey Valence & Brae with Popstar Benny: Get ready to witness the rise of hip-hop’s newest stars, Joey Valence & Brae, as they take the stage on Friday night in Purgatory at The Masquerade! Drawing inspiration from legendary acts like Beastie Boys, Heavy D, and Quad City DJs, they bring a fresh and exciting sound to the hip-hop scene that you won’t want to miss.
Saturday, May 6
- Fidlar: Fidlar’s music draws from a variety of punk and garage rock influences, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and modern. With a discography spanning over a decade, they have become a staple of the punk scene. Catch them Saturday night at The EARL. This event has sold out.
- The Black Angels: Get ready to trip out with The Black Angels, an American psychedelic rock band formed in 2004! Their dark, hypnotic sound and politically charged lyrics will transport you to another dimension. Drawing from influences like 1960s garage rock, shoegaze, and drone music, they create a totally unique and immersive sonic experience. With over a decade of mind-bending jams under their belt, they’ve become a force to be reckoned with in the world of psychedelic rock. Catch them Saturday night at The Loft at Center Stage.
- The Walkmen: Get ready to groove with The Walkmen, an American indie rock band that was part of the 2000s-era post-punk revival in New York City! With hits like “The Rat,” they were the soundtrack to the underground scene. Featuring a talented bunch, including Hamilton Leithauser, they brought a unique blend of talent and energy to the stage. Though they went on hiatus in 2013, they’ve announced a long-awaited reunion and will be hitting up Shaky Knees this year! Catch their special late-night set at Terminal West. - Pond: Get ready to take a trippy journey with Pond, the psychedelic rock band from Perth, Western Australia. With a revolving line-up that’s settled on Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Shiny Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland, they bring an eclectic mix of talent and sound to the stage. You might even recognize some familiar faces from fellow Perth-based psychedelic rock/pop band Tame Impala, as the two groups have a long history of collaboration and friendship. - The Gaslight Anthem: Get ready to rock out with The Gaslight Anthem. With their high-energy sound and killer stage presence, they’ll have you on your feet all night long. Don’t miss their performance on Saturday night at The Masquerade in Heaven.
- Digable Planets: Digable Planets, the legendary hip-hop trio, is composed of the incredibly talented rappers Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler, Mariana “Ladybug Mecca” Vieira, and Craig “Doodlebug” Irving, they’ve made a huge impact on the world of jazz, rap and alternative hip hop. You won’t want to miss their performance on Saturday night at The Masquerade in Hell.
- Off! with Upchuck: If hardcore punk is your thing, you’ll want to be at The Masquerade in Purgatory Saturday night. The supergroup is known for their short and intense songs, and are considered one of the most important bands in contemporary punk rock. Upchuck, who also are inventively raucous and revolutionary, will open.
