6 of the best things you can do in Atlanta this weekend

The weekend is almost here!
CHECK OUT: 5 must-see concerts in Atlanta this week
Whether you’re looking for a tequila tasting, a basketball game or an art exhibit, Atlanta has a little something for everyone. Here are six of our favorite things to do this weekend:
Pay ‘Respect’ to a legendary singer
Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, was one of the most iconic voices in music history. She was known for her powerful voice and how she could make any song her own.
And now you can experience that same power and grace with R.E.S.P.E.C.T., an electrifying tribute celebrating Aretha! Starring a live band and supreme vocalists, enjoy a night of music featuring all your favorite hits from “Natural Woman” to “Think” to “I Knew You Were Waiting For Me” and many more.
Location: Midtown - 660 Peachtree St NE; Time: 7 p.m.; Date: Thursday, Nov. 3; Admission: $39+; Website: events.accessatlanta.com
Raise your vibration at the High’s Frequency Friday
Every first Friday of the month, the High Museum of Art opens its doors to some of Atlanta’s favorite DJs and lets them use their creative juices to create an unforgettable experience for guests.
CHECK OUT: How Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward’s Wylie Hotel was reborn
You’ll be able to take in the Museum’s collection, create a piece of art, and participate in a docent-led tour. Then, grab a drink and food and meet new friends where Atlanta and art collide. Be sure to try this month’s specialty cocktail: a Cognac Margarita!
Location: Midtown - 1280 Peachtree St NE; Time: 6-10 p.m.; Date: Friday, Nov. 4; Admission: $25; Website: events.accessatlanta.com
Ball out at the Skyhawks’ opening night
The College Park Skyhawks are starting their season with a bang — two games in one weekend at home. The team is the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA G League affiliate, so we’re excited to see what kind of talent shows up on the court. And if you’re wondering about the ownership team — well, it just so happens that one of them is Grammy Award-winning artist Tauheed “2 Chainz” Epps, a native of College Park.
If you can’t make Friday’s opening night, they play again on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. These games are great fun for dates and families alike. So come out to support your local team!
Location: College Park - 2330 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337; Time: 7 p.m.; Date: Friday, Nov. 4; Admission: $10+; Website: events.accessatlanta.com
Take the kiddos to a book fair
Saturday will be a great day for learning — the Black Child Book Fair is coming to Atlanta!
The traveling book fair promotes literacy in Black communities by promoting Black authors and their books. This event is also a unique chance for many Black children to meet the author of their favorite book and see characters in books that look like themselves. Don’t miss out; it’s here for one day only.
Location: Northwest Atlanta - 1752 Hollywood Rd NW; Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Date: Saturday, Nov. 5; Admission: Free; Website: events.accessatlanta.com

It’s time to get your party on!
Tequila is one of the most popular spirits in the world, and the ¡Viva Tequila Festival! is your passport through its history, with tequila tastings and small plates from Atlanta’s best restaurants. The festival features more than 30 hand-crafted small-batch tequilas from Mexico, paired with small plates from Atlanta’s top chefs and restaurants. There will also be live music, art and plenty of dancing because, let’s face it: when you’re drinking tequila, that’s all you want to do anyway.
