Usher gives update on Justin Bieber’s Ramsay Hunt syndrome recovery

It’s been a month since Justin Bieber announced his diagnosis, and Usher is sharing an update on his condition.
You may remember, that last month, Bieber announced he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The condition occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of your ears. In addition to the painful shingles rash, Ramsay Hunt syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear. Bieber’s condition had progressed to the point that he was forced to postpone the U.S. leg of his “Justice World Tour.” “Hey everyone. Justin here. I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on. Obviously, as you can probably see from my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and it is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” Bieber said as he took to social media.
Earlier this month, Bieber, his wife Hailey, along with family and friends - including Usher - enjoyed a lake vacation in Idaho. “He is doing great,” Usher said. “Seeing him on vacation, we managed to hang out with each other, and I think that whatever he may be experiencing right now, it’s actually really great to see that he has the support from his fans and his family.”
Hailey also spoke on her husband’s Ramsay-Hunt syndrome diagnosis during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.” “I think honestly the silver lining in what I went through, what he went through, is it really bonds you,” she said. What Hailey is referring to (in regards to what she went through), was the hospitalization she personally went through in March after having stroke-like symptoms related to a blood clot. When she later opened up about the experience, she said she underwent heart surgery to close her heart’s patent foramen ovale, a small flap-like opening that allowed the blood clot to travel to her brain.
Hailey went on to assure fans that her husband was improving. “He’s going to be totally fine,” she said. ”This is just a really out-of-nowhere, weird situation.”
