Lil Scrappy set to take on Baron Black during celebrity wrestling match in Atlanta

Lil Scrappy is the latest rapper to take his talents to the ring.
It seems like these days, a lot of rappers are putting the mics down, and putting their fist up – in a professional sense. Whether it’s boxing or wrestling, there are a lot of celebrities and rappers alike, who are trying their luck. Lil Scrappy is going the wrestling route and has a match lined up for later this month in Atlanta. Who will he be up against? A familiar opponent for him, Baron Black. I say familiar because Scrappy actually faced off against Black last month.
Scrappy seems confident regarding this match. He recently took to social media to share some of his wrestling moves, and I must admit, he does look like he has a handle on this whole wrestling thing!
The Atlanta rapper is just the latest celebrity to try and show off his moves – rapper DDG, former pro basketball player and reality tv star, Lamar Odom and even rapper Blueface have all taken to the ring for celebrity boxing matches. Blueface is actually getting back in the ring to face off against former basketball player, Nick Young relatively soon. It seems like the demand for these celebrity matches is getting higher and higher but Black isn’t a fan and had a lot to say about it in his latest Instagram video promoting the fight. “When is this going to stop?” Black asked. “When are we going to stop letting these celebrities come into this sport and doing whatever the hell they want to do, however the hell they want to do it? There has to be consequences and repercussions for these actions and it’s going to start with you Scrappy.” You can see that full video below.
The Battle Slam Takeover will go down at the Oasis Event Center July 28. It sounds like it’ll be more than just a wrestling match, as it’s also being promoted as a hip-hop showcase. The Takeover will include a live DJ, live performances and of course, live wrestling.
